About Us
Established in 1988, Hotel Vista Del Mar is a boutique property offering an intimate Catalina Island experience with just 14 beautifully appointed rooms—all located on the third floor overlooking scenic Avalon Bay. Hotel Vista Del Mar hires both seasonal and year-round employees looking for the opportunity of a lifetime, living and working on beautiful, Catalina Island.
In addition to the hotel, our company also owns Latitude 33, a unique retail store located in the heart of Avalon, offering visitors a thoughtfully curated collection of island-inspired gifts and apparel.
Housing Information
Hotel Vista Del Mar offers subsidized housing opportunities for seasonal employees. All housing units are located a few minutes walk to the beach or 5 minutes from the hotel. Housing units are typically shared and have 2 bedrooms (1 or 2 persons per room).
Housing units are fully furnished and include all pots, pans, kitchenware, bedding and towels. Housing units also featured a fully kitchen, living room and bathrooms. Housing is subsidized and charged at $150 per week. This includes all utilities, including internet.
A $360 security deposit is due upon move-in. $300.00 of this is refundable security deposit, conditional upon the housing unit being clean and undamaged. A $60.00 non-refundable deposit is required for annual painting, cleaning, replenishing bedding and dishware and other maintenance at the end of each season. All tenants must abide by the rules and regulations of the housing units and may only work for Hotel Vista Del Mar while living in the companies housing units; no outside employment is permitted due to the subsidized housing.
